Members turn leadership training into new funding
Following the recent leadership, governance and resource mobilization training in Kisumu, we are excited to share that several participating organizations, including Kamakowa Jamtaka, have already begun using the skills gained to secure and strengthen new funding opportunities. A big thank you to the leadership of United Destiny Shapers, who initiated and hosted the sessions for the Kisumu chapter. Read more here.

YACEI-SL on building resilience in Sierra Leone
The Young Africans Community Empowerment Initiative is a youth-led organization strengthening opportunity and resilience in rural eastern Sierra Leone. Founded by five young people after the civil war, YACEI-SL works across education, peacebuilding, food security, income generation, health promotion and gender-based violence prevention. Their community-led approach is creating meaningful pathways for girls, women, children and youth in hard-to-reach areas. Read more here.

Change for Planet Foundation: Seeds4Progress
Change for Planet Foundation is helping communities build sustainable futures through climate action, digital skills and practical livelihood support. From their ongoing Seeds4Progress initiative, which is boosting food security for farming families, to a recent virtual session with Columbia University that brought their work to a global classroom, C4P is creating opportunities that reach far beyond their region. Global health philanthropy in the post-aid era
Philanthropic capital can’t fill the vacuum left by the collapse of international aid, but funders nevertheless need to move from caution to courage and accelerate their pace of giving. As foreign aid recedes, philanthropy can support grassroots leaders as they develop their organizations, grow their skills, and advocate with local governments. Supporting local leadership capacity supports both quick response to changing conditions and long-term change. Read more here.

The call supports new financial mechanisms that address climate challenges, such as resilient infrastructure and risk transfer, in ODA-eligible developing economies. Deadline: December 10, 2025
Call for Proposals: The New Africa Fund’s Africa Impact Fundraising Grant (AIFG) empowers African NGOs/social enterprises with fundraising expertise. It offers online training, a 30-day challenge with up to $5,000 USD in matching funds, and free fiscal sponsorship. Deadline: December 16, 2025
Call for Proposals: WeWorld invites non-profit CSOs/CBOs in Kenya (Isiolo, Nairobi, and Kwale Counties) to apply for sub-grants under the Sikiliza Sauti Yetu project. The focus is strengthening youth-centered civil society engagement in climate action. Deadline: December 19, 2025
